Turbos Named to Face Bay of Plenty

Manawatu Turbos Chairty Jersey 2014 Bay of Plenty

The Turbos have been named to face Bay of Plenty in the penultimate round of the Mitre 10 Cup

The Turbos have again rotated their squad following their demolition of Wellington on Wednesday as they rest players in what has been a sight turn around  of three games in eight days.

In the forwards Chris Eves will again start whilst Travis Taylor comes back into the starting line up with Alaalatoa rounding out a capable front row. The most notable absence from the forward pack is Captain Callum Gibbins  who has been sidelined with a mild concussion. Heiden Bedwell-Curtis returns to the side with Valentino Mapapalngi taking up a spot back on the bench to cover the locking positions. Kane Thompson has been ruled out with a slight leg injury.  

In the backs Luther Hirini will get his first start of his Turbos career whilsts Ngani Laumape and Jason Emery will hope to re-ignite their combination that saw PNBHS 1st XV so dominant during the two young midfield back's time there. Jamie Booth maintains his starting spot with Otere Black directing play at first receiver.

In the reserves Hamish Northcott will get some respite putting on the number 23 jersey for the first time in this season. Jake Ilnicki and Liam Hallm-Eames will also play from the bech after solid performances against Wellington.
