Turbos player Jackson Hemopo was the toast of Manawatu as he collected the two top awards at the annual Silvester Clark Manawatu Turbos End of Year Dinner held at the Distinction Hotel on Tuesday night.

Turbos player Jackson Hemopo was the toast of Manawatu as he collected the two top awards at the annual Silvester Clark Manawatu Turbos End of Year Dinner held at the Distinction Hotel on Tuesday night.

Hemopo won the supreme award – the Manawatu Rugby Supporters’ Club Player of the Year trophy as well as being named Players’ Player of the Year. It was the second year on the trot that Hemopo was named Players’ Player of the Year.
Prop Sean Paranihi was named Personality of the Year, fullback Te Rangatira Waitokia was crowned Rookie of the Year, while Fraser Armstrong collected the Most Valuable Forward award and Jamie Booth was awarded the Most Valuable Back. Earlier in the evening three other Manawatu representative teams were recognised for their respective seasons.

Best Back – Ueta Tufuga
Most Valuable Player – Brayden Iose
