Nehe Back in for 'Canes
Turbos fullback Nehe Milner-Skudder has been put straight back into the starting line-up for the Hurricanes.
Following a minor calf strain two weeks ago the outstanding young fullback only has had to watch from the side-lines for one game. Returning to fitness as expected the Hurricanes coaches have been quick to give Nehe back the No. 15 Jersey showing their confidence in Super Rugby’s most entertaining and elusive debutant.
Joining Nehe in the starting line-up will be the unsung Turbos captain Callum Gibbins who again play the game on the blindside despite preferring the number seven jersey. In last week’s win over the Reds Gibbins ended up back at the open side position late in the game which appeared to be a switch made by the players.
Out of position or not there is no doubt Callum’s work load on the pitch will contribute no matter what side of the scrum he lines up on. From Turbos Head Coach Jason O’Halloran’s point of view it is just pleasing to see the Hurricanes opting to play people based on their form and ability;
“It is clear to see that the Hurricanes have benefitted really well from embracing players from the franchised regions, something they have lacked previously. It’s really good to see our guys get the game time they deserve and as we expect they have not wasted a second of it.”
Chris Eves will round out the Turbos Trio on Saturday playing from the bench as they look to help the Hurricanes assert their lead at the top of the table against a Crusaders side that is yet to fire this year.
